Here's an easy way check to see if water is leaking through your flapper valve. How to Test the Flapper Valve 1. Shut the water valve off; its about 6 inches off the floor on the left side of the toilet. 2. Take the cover off the tank, and place it in a safe place. 3. Mark the water level: Use a hard lead pencil and mark the level of the water on the inside of the tank. 4. After about an hour later, check to see if the water level is below the line you marked on the tank. If it is, than, your flapper is leaking. |
