Even though there are over 100 known causes of dementia or memory
loss, Alzheimer's Disease, the most common form, has become the generic
name for all dementia, especially memory loss in the older person. That
"Second Childhood" we used to adore in Uncle Willie, has become the
7th leading cause of death.
Amnesia, a partial or total loss of memory caused by brain injury
or by shock, which we read about so often in novels and see too often
in movies, is actually a rare disorder. (FYI)
This support group is for caregivers or anyone involved with
someone who suffers from memory loss. Your loved one, who is going
through the second childhood, is also invited.
